Online Therapy in Wyoming
I'm Colt Gordon, LCSW — a therapist who actually lives here. I work with clients across Wyoming through secure video sessions, from my home base in Cody.A Wyoming Therapist, for All of Wyoming
Wyoming has the fewest people per square mile in the lower 48 — and some of the longest drives to the nearest therapist. In much of the state, "seeing someone" means a half-day round trip, if there's anyone taking clients at all. That's the problem online therapy was built for. I live in Cody, I'm licensed across the state, and every session happens over secure video. Whether you're in Casper, Cheyenne, Sheridan, Buffalo, Powell, or forty minutes down a county road, you get the same session I'd give you across a desk — without burning half a tank to get it. I'm a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and a member of the Motivational Interviewing Network of Trainers (MINT). My practice is built on Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), supported by EMDR, Bowen Family Systems work, DBT and CBT skills, and Exposure Therapy — whichever combination your situation calls for.How Online Sessions Work
Sessions happen over secure, HIPAA-compliant video — a private space, a workable connection, and a device with a camera is all it takes. We start with a free 15-minute consultation. You tell me what's going on, I tell you honestly whether I'm the right person for it, and you decide. If we're a fit, sessions are $185 and mine is a private-pay practice — I don't bill insurance, which keeps your records between us. In a state where everybody knows everybody, that privacy isn't a small thing. What I Work With
Anxiety and panic attacks. Depression. Trauma and PTSD. Phobias. OCD. Chronic pain and chronic illness. And the family-of-origin work I'm known for — enmeshment, emotional cutoff, boundaries, the roles you learned growing up. Every one of these goes deeper:- Anxiety · Panic Attacks · Depression · Trauma & PTSD · Phobias · Chronic Pain & Illness
- ACT · EMDR · Bowen Family Systems · DBT · CBT · Exposure Therapy · Motivational Interviewing
The Approach: A Process, Not Just a Conversation
Everything I do is organized around The Six Pillars of Making a Life That Works — my ACT-based framework: Contacting the Present Moment (Be Here Now) · Defusion (Watch Your Thinking) · Acceptance (Open Up) · Self-as-Context (Balancing Self-Identity) · Values (Know What Matters) · Committed Action (Do What It Takes). Do you have a process for change? I do, and I can teach it to you. See The Process.Start with a Conversation
